Basement East presents a tribute to hip hop’s legendary producer – *the One and Only J Dilla* – benefiting the James Dewitt Yancey Foundation.

Daru Jones Official bio:
Jones (Jack White / DMD) has been the “go-to-drummer” in the hip hop game for over a decade. He has recorded, performed, and toured with renowned artists and producers such as Slum Village, Talib Kweli, Black Milk, Pete Rock, and Salaam Remi. He has shared the stage with legends and emerging stars alike, including: Black Moon, Smif N Wessun, Q-Tip, Mos Def, Raekwon, Curren$y, Pharoahe Monch, Jean Grae, Black Sheep, Digable Planets, Camp_Lo, Smoke Dza, Theophulis London and Large Professor.
Jones is also a sought-after producer and boutique label owner who develops talent and releases music through his imprint, RUSIC RECORDS, LLC. He endorses DW drums/hardware/pedals, LP percussion, Pro-mark sticks, Mono cases, Evans drum heads, and Paiste cymbals.
Nick Werth (Yak Attack / Ghost-Note) serves up Hip Hop-inspired beats with his solo project, Galaxe. What makes this incredibly unique is that he does it all live using a Xylosynth. Based in the Pacific Northwest, the Galaxe sound is deeply inspired by nature and psychedelic experience, with nods to J Dilla and Flying Lotus.
